Description

DoubleHands

Lore: True mastery of survival requires the use of both hands. A torch or tool is just as effective in the left hand as it is in the right.

DoubleHands: Functional Java-Style Offhand for Minecraft Bedrock

  • DoubleHands is a revolutionary Minecraft Bedrock addon designed to bring Java Edition offhand parity to your world. If you've ever wondered how to use a torch in your offhand on Bedrock or wanted to place blocks while holding a tool, this is the solution. Unlike basic cosmetic mods, this functional offhand addon allows you to hold and use items in your left hand exactly like the Java Edition.

  • Compatible with Minecraft Bedrock 1.21+, it works perfectly on Realms, Dedicated Servers (BDS), and single-player worlds. Whether you need a dual-wielding mod for combat or a utility offhand for mining, DoubleHands provides a seamless, lag-free experience for mobile, console, and PC players.

  • This addon has built-in dynamic lighting, hold any emmisive item and it will give off light.

  • This addon allows you to put all items and blocks in off-hand, and also makes it possible to place blocks  AND USE MOST ITEMS (like redstone, crops, torches etc) from off-hand if main hand is empty or has a tool. (Just like java edition). It also allows for use of projectiles like snowballs from offhand (with some exceptions).

Features:

  • Place any blocks in the game with offhand

  • Liquid & Bucket placement

  • Main Hand Priority: Using tools for actions like stripping logs, tilling dirt, or using bows prevents offhand placement

  • Farming: Seeds and crops can be planted efficiently with crops in offhand and hoe/harvesting in/with main hand.

  • Expanded Item Support: Full offhand support for Flint and Steel (placing fire), Buckets, technical items like Tripwire Hooks and almost all other usable items .

  • Immersive Feedback: All offhand actions play the correct sound effects.

  • Fireworks support: Fireworks can be used while flying from offhand, doesn't matter what you're holding in main hand.

  • Projectile Support: throw things like eggs and snowballs (with some exceptions)

Usage:

To swap items to offhand, you have 4 different ways:
Double-sneak to move item to offhand

  • Use the emote "overthere" and it will move your current item to offhand

  • You can use the command /swap to move item to offhand:

  • And the best one for keyboard users, in mc version 26.0, there is an option to set custom key maps, so you can press a key on keyboard to move item to offhand easily. set it up like in image:

Then if you have a tool in your hand (or nothing), blocks in your off-hand will be used instead (just like java edition).

Installation:

Import the .mcpack and apply it on world, no experiments needed

Known Limitations (These are not fixable for now due to bedrock's limitations)

Placement Issues:

  • Item frames may break when placing blocks from offhand nearby

  • Flower pots can be placed mid-air

Feature Limitations:

  • Cannot eat food from offhand

  • Firework flight duration differences not supported (all give same boost)

  • the blocks appear smaller in size on offhand, this is a bedrock bug, this has no impact on the addon tho.

Details:

  • 26.0 and above (use versions older than 3.5.0 for older game versions)

  • This pack doesn't use experiments, so it will probably continue to work as intended even after updates to game.

  • It also doesn't use player.json, so it will be compatible with all other addons (theoretically)
